I’m Edna Korama Yamoah, the founder and executive director of the Boy Child Supportive Care Foundation. Mother of two girls.
I was born in Accra, raised in Takoradi, and settled in Accra. After my tertiary programs, I worked as a marketer and a secretary for a few years and then moved into the healthcare sector as a professional pharmacy technician and a massage and physiotherapist. Growing up as a girl and witnessing the many difficulties and challenges boys go through, especially the less privileged, shaped my journey and inspired me to create this organization.
As I grew older, I realized that not all boys are fortunate to have good parental guidance and access to a good education. Many face even greater challenges, including poverty, abuse, emotional problems, and neglect.
With a passion to make a difference, I established the Boy Child Supportive Care Foundation to provide support and resources to all boys in society, especially the less privileged, helping them to overcome their challenges and reach their full potential.
My great team and I aim to address the unique needs of boys, including education, healthcare, mentorship, and character development. We believe that every boy deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we are committed to helping them achieve their dreams.
I am proud of the work we have started, but I know that there is still much to be done. I STAND FOR THE PLIGHT OF BOYS AND I PLEDGE to work together with my team to make make a POSITIVE IMPACT on the lives of boys in and around the country.

After high school, I enrolled at Pentecost University College to pursue an Administration Business Executive course. However, I later deferred and transferred to the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), where I completed a diploma before obtaining a degree in Communication Studies, with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Journalism.
While at university, I interned at one of Ghana’s largest media houses, Multimedia Group Limited. After completing my degree, I continued with them as a National Service Person. I worked at Multimedia for several years before I decided to pursue a different path and focus on my personal business ventures.
Along this journey, I discovered a deep passion for helping the less privileged. This led me to join The Boy Child Care Supportive Foundation, where I serve as the Media and Assistance PRO. The foundation has significantly shaped my desire to give back to society. Through this role, I have been actively involved in taking young boys off the streets, equipping them with skills that will enable them to build brighter futures.
The joy and fulfillment I derive from this work inspire me every day. It is my hope that no child will ever have to struggle unnecessarily to survive. My current focus is on being an advocate for the underprivileged, and I am determined to reach a level where my efforts can be recognized, allowing me to make a meaningful impact on those in need.
